How to improve on perfection
It is hard to believe Land Rover halted production of the old defender in 2016. It’s replacement is: refined, modern and sophisticated, but somehow there is still no replacing the ‘old beaut’. Although many have been used and abused over their lives, there are a few cherished examples which have been loved and cared for, and out of those rare few, there are some outstanding examples which have been: tweaked and styled to be perfection it self.
Ollie and Lisa Guest are the owners of this freshly finished 2013 D90 in Keswick green, perhaps the best of all the heritage colours. In a collaboration with Outlander Vehicles, Stewart Christie consulted on the design of the interior, supplying the gun club check tweed woven by Lovat Mill to compliment the sable leather and teak detailing.
The attention to detail was second to none on this project with just enough tweed to balance with the leather and the wood. The wooden side steps, and wooden floored rear cabin worked together with the teak cubby and gear knob. A re-mapped engine and new inter cooler gives more power and with a sport clutch and short gear change the drive is much more refined.
We are proud to have our name plaque in the cab and we wish Ollie, Lisa and Ivy *when she is old enough to drive!) many happy years exploring the highlands in their one of a kind creation. If you are interested in a collaboration please get in touch and we will assist you.
